About That Tweet…

By  |

Imagine this: I’m in Atlanta, preparing for a new client meeting when I receive a text stating that the person I’m waiting for is running late.  In fact, very late (Atlanta traffic = no joke). With quite a bit of time to spare, I decide to see what’s happening in Twitterville. Looking at my “@getinhershoes” mentions I can NOT believe my eyes. “Nooooo, this can’t be what it looks like,” I say to myself. So I look again, thinking that a second glance will reveal the actual truth. But wait, I’m seeing this correctly. Yes! Ummmmm, Tracee freakin’ Ellis Ross just tweeted me! She read the In Her Shoes post I wrote about her and her mom and said that she (insert drum roll) LOVED it!

My heart skipped several beats and the first thing I could do is get on Facebook to share the good news with my FB fam. Tracee Ellis Ross, better known as “Joan” thought enough of my little old blog post to Tweet me back! Can you imagine? The object of my girl crush, the woman who is the sole source of my hair and style envy, took time out of her celebrity-filled day to swing by In Her Shoes? My mind began to drift as I visualized Tracee at her laptop checking out the blog. But wait, did she share it with her mama? After all, the post was about them both. Is it possible that THE legendary Diana Ross knows that my blog exists? This is about as dreamy as it gets!

Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for…

As a New York City storyteller, filmmaker, digital content creator, and PR strategist, Renae Bluitt created "In Her Shoes" to empower and enlighten women committed to realizing their dreams.
