Got A Problem? Tweet It Out!
By In Her Shoes Contributor: Kamari Guthrie
It seems as though in the past, say, fifteen years, technology has fast-tracked in providing unconventional, game-changing convenience. Through smart phones and DVR, vibrating mascaras and Google Earth, there’s no way you can get anything wrong these days!
As my personal plug for Twitter.com, I must convince you guys to take advantage as the newest big convenience-provider. Sure you can use it to find out what your favorite celebrities, moguls or friends are doing every second of the day. But even better, you can use it to have great conversations with some of your favorite and most influential brands and personalities.
This past week, frustrated by poor cell-phone service, I “tweeted” about my problems. Sure, I was a little rude and exaggerated, saying that my service provider “single-handedly ruins my life on a daily basis,” but within minutes, I was contacted by my service provider via Twitter! After having a direct Twitter conversation with them and a quick phone call, they took 50% off of my cell phone bill for my troubles—talk about convenience and cost savings!
So, I tell you this story to tell you this: don’t be afraid to get involved in the new technologies available to you. You never know who’s on the other end of your technology or when your next recessionista savings will come from!
