In Pics: ESSENCE + Pantene’s Curly Q’s & Straight Talk

By  |

Tuesday evening at Midtown’s 48 Lounge, some of New York City’s flyest beauty and style mavens came out to experience the highly buzzed about ESSENCE and Pantene Curly Q’s & Straight Talk event. The invite-only affair kicked off with a high-energy panel discussion to educate women on the importance of healthy hair while bridging the gap between the natural and relaxed. The lively, candid and sometimes comedic conversation was led by ESSENCE Beauty and Style Director, Pamela Edwards-Christiani and celebrity hair stylist, Mann Nance. Panelists for the evening included yours truly, Kela Walker of KelasKloset.com, Aliah Davis of GetFitDiva.com, Haircare Vlogger Tiarra Monet and Cynthia of Addicted2Etsy.com serving as the Digital MC.  I had a complete blast sharing the highs and lows of my personal hair journey (boy, has it been a ride!) and dispelling the myths associated with being natural. Guests enjoyed photo booth fun, signature cocktails, hair consultations and a healthy dose of girl talk. If you had a chance to attend, I hope you enjoyed the night as much as I did. If not, don’t you dare fret – I’ve snagged a few photos to show exactly what you missed. MANY, many thanks to ESSENCE and Pantene for this wonderful opportunity!
