Last night a few hundred style-savvy New Yorkers and fashion insiders descended upon the MoMa to support an amazing cause. After collaborating on a successful line of charitable t-shirts this winter, Mary J. Blige and fashion designer Catherine Malandrino joined forces to host their first fashion show together to benefit Blige’s nonprofit organization, FFAWN (Foundation For the Achievement of Women Now).

$1,000-tickets secured seats at last night’s fashion soiree but before you raise an eyebrow, listen up. The steep price tag helped cover college tuition for 30 graduates of the Women’s Academy of Excellence in the Bronx as part of FFAWN’s 2011 initiatives. Now that’s what I call a party with a purpose!

Lots of beautiful people came out in full support of Mary J.’s philanthropic work so as you can imagine, she was beaming! Following are a few pics from the evening’s festivities:
