In Her Shoes Home

Not. Cool.

So, everyone is up in arms over this extremely tacky, offensive, and unapologetically racist cartoon that graced the pages of today’s New York Post – and rightfully so!

In today’s age of digital media, we ALL have a voice. If this image offends you (and I’m not sure how it couldn’t), I urge you to express your concern. Blog about, talk about it and more importantly take it straight to the source. Tell the New York Post  how you really feel about it.

2.19.09 Update:  New York Post editor-in-chief Col Allan defended the cartoon, in a statement to Politico:

“The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimpanzee in Connecticut. It broadly mocks Washington’s efforts to revive the economy. Again, Al Sharpton reveals himself as nothing more than a publicity opportunist.”

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

– Martin Luther King, Jr.

As a New York City storyteller, filmmaker, digital content creator, and PR strategist, Renae Bluitt created "In Her Shoes" to empower and enlighten women committed to realizing their dreams.
