Mompreneur Holiday Tips

Holiday season is one of THE busiest times of the year for everyone, especially a mompreneur.  It is important that we capitalize on the droves of shoppers online and in-store but, that also means longer work hours for us. So, how do we still make time for our families?  How do we make sure the business is thriving while trying to enjoy time with loved ones? Here we offer five tips for mompreneurs to have a healthy work/life balance during the demanding and sometimes stressful holiday season:

1.  Make Christmas tree/holiday decoration shopping a family event.  Leave your smart phone at home (okay, maybe in the car) and just enjoy the moment!

2.  Decorate your home with your family.  Have snacks, beverages, and add some cheesy holiday music for a perfect little party right at home.  This is a great time to invite close family and friends to stop by, too!

3.  Shop online –  the more time you spend in the stores, the less time you spend home with your family. Shopping online has many benefits including better time management and tons of sales and savings.

4.  Have as many family dinners as you can during the holidays. Christmas and New Years are definitely food-focused holidays. Instead of counting calories, count your blessings with the ones you love over a delicious, nurturing meal.

5. No one is at their best when they are exhausted, overworked and stretched thin. Although it may be difficult, carving out time to get rest and decompress from holiday busyness is key. Take time out to nurture your spirt. Treat yourself to a mani/pedi (with Ginger + Liz polish, of course!), indulge in a spa day, or simply draw a bath at home and escape for a bit. Your body and soul will thank you for it!
