The Jill of all Trades

Congrats to Jill Scott for landing a role in the highly anticipated HBO series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency! The soulful songstress was asked to take on the role after starring as lead heroine, Precious Ramotswe, in the 2007 Anthony Minghella-directed TV film, which also aired on HBO. Adapted from Alexander McCall Smith’s best-selling novels, the 13-episode series follows the fortunes of the only woman-owned detective agency in the African nation of Botswana.

The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency airs this Sunday, March 29th at 8 p.m. EST on HBO.
