Door to Door

By  |

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.”

-Helen Keller

Life is filled with many surprises, unexpected turns and a couple of hidden passages. We often have a 1,2,3 step-by-step plan of where we want to be at a specific age. We have every door we want to a walk through and how long it will take to get to the next one. Sometimes life will throw you a curve ball, not necessarily bad but certainly unexpected. We have to learn to not be shaken up but embrace the new route that was created for us.

We often stare at the door that was closed for so long that we end up missing the sky line that was opened up for us. You only have so much control of how situations around you pan out. Your responsibility is to have an understanding of your purpose of life and work towards it. Not necessarily knowing all the details of why, when, what and where, but simply having faith in the direction you’re going in.

Allow life to give you as many opportunities as it can . Yes, it might not have been the original path you created when wrote down your five year plan but that’s the beauty of life. Lessons will be learned, character will be gained and overflowing memories created when you allow yourself to embrace the opportunity at hand. Don’t overanalyze why life made a left when you expected a right. Take it for what it is and  continue to grow as a person.

Trust the process!
