Check On It
Buongiorno!
What do you do when your car runs out of gas? You fill it up…immediately. If your fridge is empty how do you prepare the next meal? You head to your nearest Trader Joe’s and get to shopping…ASAP. Well why aren’t we so quick to replinish ourselves when energy levels are on “E”?
Work hard, play harder has always been my motto but as an entrepreneur, the concept is much easier said than done. The bitter irony is that the vacation-deprived usually think they’re doing everybody a favor by “grinding it out” to the point of exhaustion. But the reality is that they’re costing everyone — their clients, their team, their families, and of course, themselves. Work addiction is not a game. Like other addictions, you usually have to bottom out before you can summon the courage to change.
I haven’t bottomed out, but boy am I ready for a breather! In Her Shoes will be taking a short pause for the cause this week, returning back to our regularly scheduled programming on Tuesday, September 6th. I’ve packed my bags and escaped New York City with two of my favorite people to visit Italy, Greece and Turkey. My sole responsibility over the next few days is to relax, relate, release, and celebrate my birthday!
Swing by next week for pics and a story or two from my Mediterranean adventures. Have an awesome and productive week, bellas.
Arrivederci!
