Blogging for Business!

Ok, I have a secret for all of you entrepreneurs out there who haven’t already caught on. Blogging is taking over the world—the business world that is.

Now that traditional media and marketing is being shaken up by the Perez Hilton’s and Twitter-birds of the universe, there’s no better time or better way to begin marketing your company. I know I say this all the time, but in this economy the cheapest way to reach your target consumers or clients is through the Internet. Exhibit A? Lancôme’s new beauty blog.

The Lancôme Blog launched about a month ago and gives all the goods on beauty for makeup lovers (their target consumer). A genius way to engage a consumer/client without making them feel like they’re a marketing target, the blog gives the skinny on everything from make up application to fashion events to interviews with industry insiders. All the while, the blog is obviously sprinkled with information about the brand’s products.

The point: Anyone who is anyone who wants to reach their consumer is going to have to hop online and start talking. Save your money and stop focusing all of your capital on buying ad space if you can’t afford it. Go viral. Whether it is starting a blog to deliver product or service news to your already-loyal following or creating a completely viral space to sell your services, you’ve got to go where the people are! When people can find you online and you are offering news pertaining to your industry, they are more likely to view you as an expert and turn their money over to you.

Just a quick little P.R. insider tip!
