Become Your Dream

By  |

In a city like New York it’s easy to get so caught up in your daily grind that you don’t notice what’s going on around you.  People, buildings, street vendors, and even the rodents you pass daily can almost become invisible when you’re focused on that Blackberry, listening to your ipod, or rushing to make an important meeting on time. Blocking out everything is pretty much necessary for survival but sometimes we’re forced to open our eyes and take notice of a message we need to hear in STEREO.

New York City-based artist, activist, educator, and entrepreneur De La Vega inspires his community and wakes up the masses by creating artwork laced with positive affirmations where you’d least expect it. Signs on a refrigerator that had been left for dead on the curb, affirmations on the pavement that leads you from point A to B, or a large piece of styrofoam lifted from the trash and propped against a building can all be part of the Universe’s message to you.  The signs all read “Become your dream.

The thought I’m sharing today via De La Vega’s artistic movement is that BEAUTY is everywhere. If we truly understand this, we can look at any ordinary object and find beauty in its existence. No matter what’s going on in our lives we’ve got to remember that we’re constantly surrounded by miracles. Enjoy!

As a New York City storyteller, filmmaker, digital content creator, and PR strategist, Renae Bluitt created "In Her Shoes" to empower and enlighten women committed to realizing their dreams.
