B is for Balance

By  |

“Work hard, play hard!” is a phrase we’re all familiar with but sometimes we need a reminder to adopt both lifestyles equally. We live in a society where we’re constantly surrounded by deadlines, projects, events, etc. that seem to keep our lives fully occupied. Many of us love to wear the label “workaholic” proudly stamped across our chest and will even experience a bit of guilt if we don’t “feel” like we’re always doing something productive. This is one of the many reasons we’re constantly connected to the iPhone, iPad, laptop, and the Blackberry (insert your technological addiction of choice here).

With the title entrepreneur comes not only a boatload of satisfaction but also a LOT of responsibilities. Giving birth to a business or concept and being your own boss has countless perks and a never ending to-do list. Some of us may have learned this the hard way but remember: the more that you work, work, work without taking a break from your business or project, the more counterproductive you become, especially in a creative field.

Life is ALL about balance. I know pulling yourself away may seem like the recipe for disaster but in actuality, it may just be the spice you need to catapult your success. Frustration can easily stunt our growth if we don’t catch it quickly. Coming back to a project refreshed is THE best thing you can do to get your positive and creative energy flowing again!

With that I leave you with these five words: happy Fourth of July weekend!

Miracles & Blessings,
