Any fellow Instagram addicts in the room? What once was just a random application on my iPhone is now a full blown obsession. From humor to fashion and everything in between, Instagram gives this photography lover everything she needs including inspiration!
One afternoon as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed I received a message. My girl Raeven Western was introducing me to an artist she thought I’d like to know and as usual, she was right! Meet Tamika Blockett, the genius behind the Instagram tribute to the oh so talented June Ambrose. Simply titled 30 Days of June, Tamika’s ode to one of the fashion industry’s hottest talents has garnered lots of love and “likes” on the increasingly popular application. When asked what inspired the 30 Days of June concept Tamika shared the following:
Overall I’m inspired by style and beauty. My personal and brand mission is to inspire, empower and elevate women of color through my quirky, vibrant and playful multi-cultural illustrations. After attending the annual Stationary Show in May, I realized I needed more visuals for my company entitled Little Miss Mika, launching June 30th. Shortly after that aha! moment, I thought why not celebrate celebrity stylist June Ambrose for the entire month of June. Why? You may ask. One, her birthday is in June, two, it would be a daily birthday treat and three, it would provide me with an inspirational daily challenge. So far it’s been an incredible journey and I’m looking forward to the next challenge!
