Time Out Techniques

By  |

Spend the afternoon.  You can’t take it with you.

– Annie Dillard

As the day flies by and you’re slaying tasks at record-breaking speeds, taking time out to simply DO YOU is a must. Life’s responsibilities can leave us frazzled, drained and truly stressed out. Let’s face it, being a fly female entrepreneur is no small feat. Playing the role of boss lady entails assigning tasks, making sure everything is complete, and rewarding others when they are doing an amazing job. How often do you turn the tables? It’s time to start rewarding yourself for all of the excellence YOU bring. Don’t know where to start? Relax. We’ve got you!

Spare Moments: Time is one of the most precious commodities on earth. We dedicate countless hours to resolving issues, mapping out our next steps and creating opportunities. Take a few moments out of the day for you. It doesn’t have to be a grand production, it can be as simple as enjoying a cup of tea, sitting in your favorite chair,  doing absolutely nothing. You’ll be amazed at how just 10 minutes of solitude can help clear out the clutter in your mind and jump start the day.

Gift Yourself: If you’ve been eyeing a hot bag or a pair of fly designer boots for a while, why not treat yourself? You spend so much time giving to others, it’s easy to overlook the woman who has been with you through thick and thin…YOU! Set a goal you’ve been wanting to reach, achieve it, and reward yourself. Go out and snag yourself a “guilt-free” gift without buyer’s remorse because guess what? You deserve it.

Call the Crew!: There is no better feeling in the world than being surrounded by your loved ones, but when you’re busy chasing dreams, nurturing these relationships can become challenging. If you have a little spare time in the evening, call up your girlfriends and do dinner or a night out on the town. Even though you might look at your schedule and think you can’t squeeze any time in, commit to making it happen. The beauty of life lies in the power of balance we create.  As you continue on your entrepreneurial journey, don’t forget how much you’ve accomplished thus far. Reward yourself with balance. The more of it you have in life, the more powerful and effective you’ll be.  Trust me!

Miracles & Blessings,
