In Her Shoes Home
Last Fall, I had a casual yet moving conversation sitting outside with my roommate. Somewhere in the laid back discussion I asked my friend what she enjoyed best about life. She paused for about 45 seconds, took a deep breath, chuckled and finally replied: “The moments in life when you truly lose yourself from reality. The moments when your mind drifts away and the world is erased. When you can look at something as simple as a flower and truly appreciate it.”
This answer has stuck with me for the past couple months. It hit me that life is filled with small, magical moments that simply allow us to be grateful. As simple from glaring at the night sky or having the warm sun wrapping around your body like a homemade quilt, life gives us daily treasures that we can discover if we allow it. Although it’s inappropriate to day dream in a meeting, letting yourself go into a tranquil daze is sometimes much needed.
Living in a day and age where we are constantly moving up, down and all around, we must learn to slow down and simply be inspired sometimes. Instead of our mind constantly racing to what we do next, it is required that we can steal moments away for appreciation. I know these moments seem insignificant or they pass by quickly but it’s our responsible to capture and treasure them.
Miracles & Blessings,
