In Her Shoes Home

reflection…

Whether you’re headed to D.C. for the inauguration celebration (affectionately referred to as Barack-nic) or celebrating in your own city, you’ve got to feel the excitement in the air  surrounding the change that has come! As we prepare for January 20th, 2009 and history in the making, it’s important that we reflect on the type of confidence and “audacity” it took for Barack Obama to climb from his humble beginnings to where he is now.

Following is a quote that we’ve all heard time and again, but can never get enough of:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves – who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But honestly, who are you to not be so?”

– Marianne Williamson in Return to Love: Reflections on a Course in Miracles

Note: this quote has also been attributed to our beloved Nelson Mandela’s 1994 INAUGURATION speech…
