Meet Nichelle and Nicole Nichols, the co-founders of The Guilty Grape. These ladies have been in the spirits and entertainment industry for the past five years, saw a gap, and knew they were the ones to fill it. People who look like us weren’t in the position of decision-makers: especially young Black women. So they decided to change that. Working 9:00 to wine, they left their day jobs to start something new. But The Guilty Grape isn’t just a company that sells wine. They build pathways for minorities and women through intentional hiring and team building. They’re building legacies by breaking ground alongside the other Black wine owners in a space where we’ve worked, but never profited from.

The Guilty Grape believes that the experience that comes along with their bottles is just as important as the wine itself.  They source their wine via some of the best micro-vineyards in California, to guarantee every vine gets the same special attention they give their customers. The Guilty Grape looks forward to you enjoying and sharing their wine, through celebrating the little moments when we all need it most.

Brooklyn Tea

Tea is significant in world history, health, culture and spirituality. For billions of people all around the globe, tea is an aspect of daily life. Brooklyn Tea wants to be a part of that. The brand seeks to create an authentic and accessible escape for their customers through their love of tea. Brooklyn Teas are of the highest quality, organic, and fair trade whenever available. As part of their mission, they provide free expert-level tea education in any community they serve.

Ivy’s Tea Co.

Drinking tea was commonplace in Shanae Jones’s household growing up. She’s a first-generation American and grew up in a Jamaican household to a British mother, so she says holistic health was always a priority. At the same time, she understands that tea may have certain posh, colonial connotations, and when she created Ivy’s Tea Co. in 2016, her aim was to change the way people see tea drinkers. Jones’s tea blends are handcrafted, full-leaf, and organic, ranging from Red Bone—a hibiscus tea with cranberry and chile pepper (the brand’s most popular)—to Sister Sister, a mint-rose-and-cinnamon mixture. Others, including C.R.E.A.M. and Nip’s Tea (named after the late rapper Nipsey Hussle), are a play on the pop culture and hip-hop inspirations Jones draws from. Beyond teas, you can also pick up some orange-infused Shmoney honey or a Bad and Boujee teacup.
