“Thank” Before You Speak

By  |

I’m sure that at some point, we’ve all received the advice about taking time out to simply “think before you speak.” This statement was always said as a reminder to watch what you say before inserting your foot in your mouth and offending others. I still believe in this phrase but before we continue to dive into 2011, I’d like to remix this piece of advice a bit. Don’t pull out the Blackberries and iphones to create your yearly goals just yet. Let’s take a moment to THANK before we speak.

It’s so easy to get lost in the excitement of what this untouched year has in store. The thoughts of future possibilities are endless and will you have your brain rushing trying to get out all of your innovative ideas. But wait! Before you tackle a new list of goals this is the perfect time to pause and see how much you’ve completely rocked and conquered in 2010!

We get so caught up in our daily trials that we don’t see the growth within ourselves. This is detrimental because we can begin to feel as if we’re repeating resolutions and goals unless we take time to see the how far we have come.

It’s the beginning of the year and it’s time to pause, breathe and recall all the miracles that have happened in your life up to this very second.

Take out a pen and paper. Write out a list to make it concrete and you’ll be surprised by how long the list grows. Before you even think about conquering new goals, remember 2010 and THANK before you speak!

Miracles & Blessings,
