Who are You Living For?

By  |

Boss lady, mother, friend, sister, wife, girlfriend, singer, writer, and artist are just a few of the hats we rock on a day-to-day basis. The more “seasoned” we become, the more titles we accumulate in life’s beautiful journey. With these responsibilities comes time invested, love given, and priceless memories that stem from the different titles we hold. No matter how precious and significant the roles we play are, we can’t allow one or two of them to define our entire being. Doing so leaves us with little energy or power to focus on who we are or where we’d like to be  in the future.

As women, being nurturers comes natural to us. We always want to make sure we’re lending a helping hand, making sure that everyone around us is taken care of and even putting our personal joy on the back burner for others at times.  As beautiful as the trait to be everything to everybody is, we have to remind ourselves of the life we want to live.

Yes, the combination of roles we play create who we are but it’s important to always make sure you’re living for yourself as well. Don’t give so much of yourself away that you have nothing left.  You can only be an excellent mother, sister, or friend if you truly love and are happy with you. It’s important that your core radiates your inner strength and personal goals. It’s easy to get lost in life’s hustle and bustle, labels, and statuses so make sure you do not forget who you are underneath it all.

So, I’ll ask you again. Who are YOU living for?

Miracles & Blessings,
