Top 5 Reasons We’re Inspired by “B”

By  |

Have you taken a moment to view Beyonce’s “Year of 4” mini-doc on the year-long personal and artistic journey that inspired her new album? I know we’re all busy and with this lovely weather, have the attention spans of fleas but if you haven’t already, stop what you’re doing and check this one out. Simply put, the woman is a beast! Whether you’re a fan of Beyonce’s or not, you’ll definitely walk away with a newfound respect for her as an artist and fly female entrepreneur. Her crazy work ethic and commitment to excellence just makes this Virgo proud! No matter what you do for a living, this documentary will provide you with that inspirational boost to help catapult whatever it is you’re doing to the next level.

Following are the top five reasons (in the form of sound bites) we’re inspired by B:

1. On letting go of her dad as her manager: “It was scary but it empowered me and I wasn’t going to let fear stop me.”

2. On knowing the sky is not her limit: “Being a young woman, I want to set the example that it’s possible for us to own our own businesses and record labels. Sometimes we don’t reach for the stars. Sometimes we’re satisfied with what people tell us we should be satisfied with and i’m just not going for it.”

3. On facing fears: “I’m making mistakes and learning from them. I’m not afraid to make mistakes. I embrace mistakes because they make you who you are. I’ve never been afraid to fall!

4. On true passion for what you do: “Forget all of the record sales. Forget trying to compete. You should be doing it because you LOVE it!”

And last but certainly not least (as pointed out by our favorite Pushy Dreamer, Raeven Western)…

5. On doing YOU: “I don’t have to prove myself to anyone. I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world. I run my world!”

A fly female entrepreneur after my own heart. Get it, B!
