The Complaint Department

By  |

Let’s face it. We’ve all made our way down to the complaint department of life more times than we’d like to admit. For some of us, it’s a daily destination and we schlep all of our baggage, stress, and negative energy to the next stop. If not properly checked, the weight of our carry-on baggage will increase with time, making the thought of traveling “light” almost impossible.

Yes, life’s challenges can be daunting and we all run into our fair share of road blocks, but that doesn’t give us the license to bellyache for a living. Next time you’re ready to storm down to the complaint department, consider these tips:

Make Up Your Mind: We don’t have control of each and every situation we’re placed in but we do have control over our thoughts, actions, and words. When we realize the power we hold within ourselves over ourselves, the “life threatening” situation we think we’re in won’t seem nearly as dramatic or important at the end of the day. Never lose sight of the bigger picture. Life is a gift and should be treated as such.

Say What?: Has whining and complaining become so easy for you that cynical thoughts just spill out of your mouth with ease! The key is to realize that it causes a domino effect. The more that you complain about your current situation, the more of it you’ll continue to experience. Don’t miss out on life’s blessings because you’re too focused on its challenges.

Take A Step Back: Sometimes we just need to take a step back and examine our lives to realize we so much to be grateful for. Take a moment to breathe. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. Our blessings overshadow our difficulties.

There you have it, ladies. Life is filled with countless surprises, some good and some not. In both cases, these priceless experiences exist to shape and mold you into the amazingly beautiful woman you are today.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush is full of thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
