In a world where the depiction of Black women in the media only scratches the surface of who we are, I’m proud to know a lady who is committed to shifting the narrative. Meet Qimmah Saafir, EIC of HANNAH Magazine. She understands that Black women are multidimensional and far from monolithic, so she’s working tirelessly to make a difference through the launch of her brilliant, new magazine, HANNAH.

HANNAH is, in short, a celebration of Black women. The goal of HANNAH is to highlight our diversity and provide a space where we can simply BE.

HANNAH will add important voices to the ongoing narrative about Black women—our own.

HANNAH will exist as an aesthetically pleasing content-heavy biannual print release as well as a more frequently updated digital space.

HANNAH’s content will cover everything from beauty and fashion to sociopolitical issues and tech.

HANNAH needs YOUR help to come to life. Check out the following video and make your contribution to the magazine’s Kickstarter campaign today by clicking here!

As a New York City storyteller, filmmaker, digital content creator, and PR strategist, Renae Bluitt created "In Her Shoes" to empower and enlighten women committed to realizing their dreams.
