Summertime Feeling

By  |

Feeling the way I do. It’s hard to keep focused. One minute staring at the moon. Next into your eyes…

– Jill Scott, Spring Summer Feeling

Jilly’s not the only one loving this amazing spring summer feeling! It’s that time of the year where the flowers are blooming, the sun is glowing, the girls on the block are double dutching, and smiles are a LOT easier to come by. The sweet aroma of BBQ grilling on the rooftops and your iPod playing your favorite ol’ school mix paints the perfect  picture of this magical season.

With all of this being said, I’m here to remind you to take advantage of each moment this flavorful season has to offer because you know the days are limited (especially on the East Coast). Here are some tips of how to embrace the beauty of the warm weather months:

Change the game: As women, we represent countless styles from the type of music we rock to they types of restaurants we frequent so this summer don’t get stuck in a routine. Step out and try something new! Go to that cafe you’ve been wanting to stop by, wear that figure flattering dress you’ve been second-guessing all winter,  and live your life like it’s golden! If you’re not taking risks you’re not living and summer is the perfect season to unleash the new you!

Nature Girl: If you live in New York City this may be a bit challenging, but make it a point to connect with nature regularly. Summer is when nature completely comes alive and shares its precious beauty for us to behold. Not only are there health benefits associated with spending time outdoors, but it also reminds you that life is much bigger than your day-to-day experiences.

Summer Bucket List: Life is beautiful and you only get one, so do everything you’ve always wanted to do NOW.  Make a summer bucket list including everything you’ve been daydreaming about since childhood. From performing on stage to learning French or skydiving, write it all down and mark them off as you conquer each one. Remember, tomorrow is not promised nor is this beautiful weather so work it on out!

Use this summer as an opportunity to unveil parts of you that you didn’t even know existed. The time is now.

Miracles & Blessings,
