Work It!

By  |

Hard work without talent is a shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy.

-Robert Half

A new year…scratch that, a new decade is upon us. Are you truly utilizing your gifts? As women, many of us are guilty of dimming our lights or holding back our God-given talents to make others feel comfortable. The double standard of society makes us think we should feel play down the many talents we possess. Instead of being encouraged to embrace our  gifts we’re bombarded with images of what the role of a woman “should” be. If we’re bold, know what we want out of life and go for it, we may be labeled as conceited or a “bish” instead of focused and empowered.

We definitely can’t go for that so following are three quick and easy ways to start owning your gifts today:

Own Your Time: Time never stops so neither should you. Time is the one thing we can never get back so take advantage of it. Everybody wants a piece of your day which might pull you away from your purpose. Make sure you always set a certain amount of time aside just to simply DO YOU.

Own Your Journey: Know your gifts and focus on them. Discovering all of your hidden talents is a beautiful journey so once you begin to uncover them one by one, don’t forget to share them with others. You’ll be surprised by how much giving opens you up for receiving.

Own Your Purpose: We all have a purpose in life. Have you discovered yours? I’m not talking about your job, your daily responsibilities, or even your long-term goals. I mean the real reason why you’re here on earth — the very reason you exist. Understand and embrace your life’s purpose to make everything you do that much more powerful and meaningful.

2011 is upon us. It’s time to WORK it ladies! Every last one of your amazing qualities, WORK them. No more keeping your talents tucked away until the time is “right.”  It’s time to SHINE and inspire others around you to do so as well!

Miracles & Blessings,
