Thirteen-year-old Mo’ne Davis, who plays for Philadelphia’s Taney Dragons, has become the first Little Leaguer to grace the national cover of Sports Illustrated. The 5-foot-4 inch, 111-pound eighth grader is shaking up the Little League World Series, a sport that’s not quite used to the #BlackGirlMagic Mo’ne brings. The 18th girl to play in the Series in its 69-year history? I’m beyond stoked.

As a role model for young people and adults alike, the talented Mo’ne shared the following with Sports Illustrated:

“To be honest, I never thought I’d be famous for baseball,” she says. “I want to play basketball, and I could also do both basketball and baseball — but I really want to play basketball.”

There’s so much we can learn from this beauty. We often place limitations on what we can do in our careers but Mo’ne is showing the world that multi-passionate lifestyles are feasible and the sky is NOT our limit.

Keep shining, Mo’ne!
