I Am Not My Hair

The last weekend in Women’s History Month was jam-packed with amazing events and special moments including my participation in the I Am Not My Hair panel event. With standing room only, Select Strands Studio was filled to capacity with some of New York City’s finest beauty experts, style mavens and influencers. Considering all of the media attention natural hair has garnered and the relaxed vs. natural mentalities in our community, “I Am Not My Hair” was a discussion that needed to be had.

The panel addressed the politics of hair in our community and the importance of inner beauty while giving attendees an opportunity to contribute to the timely discussion. Congrats to Bernie of COCOAChic Beauty for conceptualizing the event and many thanks to MIZANI and Select Strands for sponsoring.
