Healthy Meals on the Go!

As the beauty behind your brand, time is RARELY on our side so it’s a little more challenging to whip up a four course meal. As such, it’s much easier to grab an unhealthy option if you don’t have something healthy on hand. Today, we’re putting an end to this not so beauty-full habit. Following are a few healthy and tasty options, perfect for the days when you’re on the go from sun up to sun down!

1. Breakfast smoothies.
These are perfect because all the ingredients just go into one place. You can add fruit, veggies, raw honey, almond milk, super foods like macca powder and chia seeds to your blends. Frozen berries provide an extra kick too. Yummy!

2. Wraps
Turkey or chicken wraps are delicious. You can fill them with salad, veggies, sauces and a sprinkle of your favorite cheese as well. The wheat, spinach, gluten free, or organic ones are my favorites.

3. Grilled chicken

Grilled chicken is always a win and goes well with pretty much any side. I like using the chicken breast because it’s quick, easy and healthy. My favorite recipe is seasoning the chicken with sea salt, fresh ground pepper, lemon, culantro and garlic. And then you just grill away!

4. Veggies!
Raw or steamed, veggies are nutritious and delicious. Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, zucchini, kale and spinach are my top choices. Add some seasonings and sauté them, or you just cut them up and enjoy them raw for a snack.

5. Salads
Chicken, tuna, turkey, or any lean meat works well. If you are vegetarian, you can just add a truckload of veggies! Salads can be very satisfying. Fruits and nuts are great additives as well. Pack your dressing in a separate container so the lettuce leaves stay crunchy.

6. One pot pasta dishes
This one is my “go to” on-the-go meal. Whether it’s multigrain, gluten free, or quinoa noodles, one pot pasta dishes are the way to go. Sauté your meat in grape seed or coconut oil, add your veggies in, and then just mix the pasta in with all your seasonings. If you are a vegetarian,  just make the recipe meatless.

I hope these ideas come in handy when you’re packing your on the go treats. Yes we’re busy and there’s always LOTS to do, but let’s keep it healthy. You’re the only YOU we’ve got!
