Curb Your Enthusiasm

By  |

Enthusiasm:

1. Great excitement for or interest in a subject or cause.

2. A source or cause of great excitement or interest.

Do you remember what this word even means? Waking up and almost breaking your ankle to jump in the shower to start your day?  The best example of me recalling feeling true enthusiasm takes me back to my childhood summers. I would wake up and instantly be welcomed by the sun beaming through my window, an open agenda and the smell of my father leaving breakfast ready for his two daughters before he headed out to work. Some days I would have such an open schedule the only thing that greeted me was the 10 item chore list that we had to have done by the time my mom came home from work…or else. Even when those days would come I was thrilled for living. I would turn on some Earth, Wind & Fire (old soul) pick up a broom and start going at it as if I was granted a free vacation. With a mixture of cleaning, a dash of daydreaming, and sprinkles of energy, one could say I suffered from life enthusiasm.

As we get older we teach ourselves that there needs to be a reason for everything. A reason why you’re happy, a reason why you’re sad and a reason why to even care about living. Wrong! We do not need a specific event to be excited for life.  We just need life for us to be excited. Waking up every morning, letting your mind wander in and out of most intimate dreams are all parts of appreciating life and will have an effect on your outlook…which will eventually effect how your life turns out.

While doing mundane and repetitive activities through out the day, it is an extremely easy for enthusiasm it to fall through the cracks and not even realize it is gone. I know we hear this all the time but we only have one life to live. No…pause and really let that marinate. We are only granted ONE precious life on this earth, we do not have time to not be enthused in each activity we do. If it’s as simple as sweeping the floor or  knocking down a piled up to-do list,  approach it with life and vitality!  It’s all in your attitude. It will make your life more enjoyable which will trickle to your mind, body and spirit to create an empowered life.

Miracles & Blessings,
