Can You Keep Up?

By  |

So did you catch the premiere of Centric TV’s new reality hit, “Keeping Up With The Joneses” lastnight? Well if you didn’t, I strongly encourage you set your DVR’s immediately to catch next week’s uber-inspiring episode. “Keeping Up With The Joneses” allows viewers to step into the shoes (Louboutins, of course) of Tracey Ferguson, Houston “It girl” and Founder/Editor-in-Chief of JONES Magazine. She’s a beautiful single mother of two working diligently to take her other baby, Houston-based JONES Magazine, from local spotlight to national super-stardom.

I had the pleasure of attending Centric’s “Keeping Up With The Joneses” sneak preview earlier this week and I must admit, your girl was pleasantly surprised. While many may want to quickly dismiss this as being “just another over the top reality show” what I experienced was quite the contrary. Yes, the show is centered around a Houston socialite launching a publication for other affluent women of color, but the story delves much deeper. While building the JONES brand, Tracey is faced with the daunting task of healing from the loss of her husband, Gary, who was the inspiration behind the launch of the magazine.

In true Fly Female Entrepreneur fashion, Tracey is looking adversity in the face and using it to build a media empire. She’s weathering the storms in life by following her dreams and creating a vehicle to inspire other women! Realizing that there was an undeniable void in the publishing industry, Tracey and her fabulous team are committed to providing fashion and lifestyle content to an audience that has been under-represented for years:

“Jones Magazines speaks directly to the Denise Huxtables of the world. She’s all grown up! “

-Tracey Ferguson, Founder of JONES Magazine
